Perimenopausal symptoms

Experiencing perimenopausal symptoms or know someone who is and wondering what the hell is going on?

Firstly, remember, whatever is happening to our bodies and mind is completely normal. Just part of our evolution and lifecycle.

Symptoms to be aware of:

  • Once able to be decisive, we find ourselves unable to make the simplest of decisions.

  • Forgetting names and places, walking into rooms, or opening cupboards and wondering why?

  • Unable to sleep or experiencing disturbed sleep.

  • Hot sweats, feeling your body temperature rise and feel your body and face burning up, without the usual controls.

  • Your hair is thinning or changing.

  • Your menstrual cycle is erratic.

  • Inability to control your emotions, with either flashes of irrational anger or floods of tears.

The perimenopause period in our life can last for months or years but can be managed. Sometimes all we need to do is talk and gain an understanding.

Having experienced all the above, including having a full-on panic attack whilst driving around a roundabout, (one, that I had navigated every day for over 20 years) unable to find my exit.  I know what you are going through, I have been there, whilst holding down an Operations Director job and managing my embarrassment of having hot flushes at work.
