Embracing Change

The world seems to be spinning fast and I know there have been times when we have all wanted to shout, “stop the world, we want to get off.” Usually, we think that when we are experiencing change in some way, whether it be in our personal life or professional one. The fear of the unknown and uncertainty - it eats away at us and knocks our confidence. There is, however, a way to navigate change following the William Bridges’ Transition model - Ending what is currently in place and recognising by ending you are also beginning a new adventure. The transition zone where you are evaluating the ending and considering the future and then comes the new beginning. Each one of those phases bring their own emotions challenges and fears. All can be navigated successfully with planning and support.

To embrace change we may have to take risks, be creative, engage in learning, employ tenacity, don’t give up, listen to your thoughts, own the change, don’t let it control you.

Embracing change is essential to moving forward, acknowledging that you may need help or the skill of a professional along the way is always worth considering.
